Brian Tims practices in the areas of civil and criminal law, including the areas of employment law, professional liability, product liability, premises liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and commercial litigation, including disputes among members of closely-held businesses. Simply put, Brian is a tireless and conscientious advocate for his clients, which include companies of various sizes, as well as individuals. With the benefit of his risk management background, he helps each client manage the inherent risks of litigation with the goal of securing a favorable resolution.
Brian has been recognized as a “Rising Star," an honor bestowed upon only 2.5% of attorneys, in the 2013 - 2017 editions of Connecticut Super Lawyers®. Information concerning the selection process can be found here.
In addition, Brian has been selected for inclusion in the Connecticut Law Tribune’s “New Leaders in the Law” Class of 2016. A panel of judges from the Connecticut legal community deemed Brian to be a “New Leader” for his efforts in four areas: development of the law, advocacy/community contributions, service to the bar and peer/public recognition.
During law school, Brian studied Comparative Law in Germany and also interned for the Honorable Alvin W. Thompson, Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Additionally, Brian received the CALI Award for Excellence in both Constitutional Law and Trial Advocacy.
Brian earned his undergraduate degree with the distinction of summa cum laude in Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Connecticut School of Business. While an undergraduate student, he interned in the United States Senate on Capitol Hill. He was also inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society and the UConn School of Business Hall of Fame as a Student Fellow.
