Mike Leone's practice focuses on civil litigation, representing insurance companies, businesses, municipalities, financial institutions and insurance companies in litigation matters including liability defense, legal malpractice defense, debt restructuring, financing and bankruptcy. Mike also has experience in land use matters including zoning and inland wetland appeals before both state and municipal agencies. He has also represented municipalities in tax assessment appeals, land use appeals and tax lien foreclosures.
Before joining Halloran & Sage LLP, Mike worked as an associate at a local New Haven law firm. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Eugene H. Austin, J.S.C. in Hackensack, New Jersey from 2005-2006. While clerking, Mike mediated cases for the State of New Jersey.
Mike was selected as a “New Leader in the Law” by the Connecticut Law Tribune and was named one of “New Haven’s Finest” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2015. He is the President of the New Haven County Bar Foundation and a member of the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Mike's achievements have also been recognized by Super Lawyers®, where he was named a Connecticut Rising Star in the areas of General Litigation, Civil Litigation and Land Use/Zoning seven times in the last eight years.
Mike lives in Branford and serves as the Chairman of the Democratic Town Committee. Mike has also served as an elected Representative of the Branford Representative Town Meeting.
Mike received his Bachelor's Degree from Trinity College BA, 2001 and was co-captain of the Bantams Football team. Mike is also the current President of the Trinity Club of New Haven. He received his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, 2005. While at UCONN Law, he was a member of the Criminal Trial Clinic and Appellate Clinic.
