An accomplished trial attorney, Steve Fogerty has consistently delivered practical, cost effective resolution of disputed matters for clients pursuing or defending a wide variety of claims. His experience encompasses general commercial, employment, construction, personal injury and probate matters as well as a broad array of insurance defense areas including product liability, professional liability, automobile, premises and dram shop/liquor liability.

Drawing on insights gained from this extensive experience, he also provides general counsel services to a wide variety of privately held businesses offering advice to companies on developing and implementing their business strategies. As Managing Partner of the firm's Fairfield County office, located in Westport, Connecticut, he is adept at accessing the skills of attorneys in the various practice areas of the firm as appropriate to help clients achieve their objectives most efficiently.

Insurance companies and other large corporations regularly turn to Steve to handle their complex, high stakes/potential catastrophic loss matters. With over 50 jury trials, he has attained the "AV Preeminent Rating" by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. The AV Rating is the highest possible ranking awarded to a lawyer and is established wholly on a peer-review basis. The AV Preeminent designation signifies that Steve is considered by judges and fellow attorneys as having the highest possible rating of legal abilities and ethical standards. This rating is awarded to less than five percent of all attorneys in the country.

His skill as an effective advocate and mediator is further supported by his certification by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil Trial Advocate in 1995 and the training he has received at the Cornell Institute on Conflict Resolution in New York and the Institute for Conflict Management in California to become a certified mediator. He is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates and the American College of Trial Attorneys. He served on the United States District Court, District of Connecticut, Federal Grievance Committee from 2011-2017.
